The Weatheralls Primary School

2019 - Annie Junior

On 2nd, 4th and 5th of April 2019, 60 of our incredibly talented children, performed in our school production of Annie Jr.

Preparations for production began back in September 2018.  Before we could go ahead with auditions and castings, we had to obtain a performing licence.  This is not as straight forward as you may think; thankfully for us there weren’t any obstacles in the way and it was all systems go!

As you are aware, there is a lot of time and energy required to put together something of this size.  There are auditions, casting, rehearsals, making costumes and props, programmes, tickets, advertising, staffing the list is endless!  The dedication of staff members and some of our wonderful parents, in all of these areas was commendable.  That coupled with performing arts experience from some KD Academy Students, who also attend Soham Village College, enabled us to produce a remarkable show for all to see.

Every child worked hard and this was noticeable in the final performances.  They took to their roles with ease.  Annie and Warbucks were incredible alongside supporting cast members, Miss Hannigan, Grace Farrell, Drake, Rooster, Lily St Regis and the orphans, servants and not forgetting Sandy the dog!

Each performance was given a well-deserved standing ovation with some parents being overwhelmed by what they had seen.  Congratulations to everyone involved.
